We Don't Do Ordinary: Grayson's Waterfall Senior Session

When we started talking about his senior session, the easy answer would have been a quick studio setup or a spot in a parking lot with good light. But that's not who Grayson is — and it's not how we do things at Liza Jane Photography. So we laced up our boots, grabbed the gear, and hiked to a waterfall.

Because here's what we believe: senior photos shouldn't just capture what you look like at eighteen. They should capture who you are right now — the season of life you're standing in before everything changes. For Grayson, that meant water, movement, and a little bit of adventure. Ordinary was never on the table.

The Walk In

The trail wasn't easy, and that was kind of the point. Every senior session tells a story before the camera even comes out — the drive, the hike, the anticipation of what's around the next bend. By the time we reached the falls, Grayson wasn't posing for a camera anymore. She was just there, in a place that meant something, being herself.

The Shoot

Water photography is unpredictable in the best way. Spray catches the light, footing gets tricky, and every frame is a little bit different because nature doesn't hold still and wait for you. That's exactly why we love it. The best senior photos aren't the ones that look staged — they're the ones that look like a moment someone actually lived.

Why It Matters

Grayson's session is a picture of what "extraordinary" means to us. It's not a marketing word — it's a decision we make every time we plan a shoot. Where can we go? What can we do?
